‘Uththara’ – directed and produced by debutants while two dynamic young stars play the lead roles in the movie based on a romantic theme spiced with music and dancing.
Uththara is directed by debutant Sandun Rajakaruna and produced by another newcomer Vajira Rajapaksa who is a lawyer by profession, bringing new hope to the film industry.
Besides the movie being produced and directed by debutants, it also brings dynamic young star Suraj Mapa playing his maiden lead role in films. Suraj is indeed a multi-talented actor. The golden boy of the small screen has proven beyond doubt that he is also an excellent dancer. Suraj will be paired in the lead role opposite another debutant Hashini Gonagala who showcased her dancing skills via the Sirasa Dancing Star reality show.
The youthful Suraj-Hashini pair has certainly done a fine job to ignite the silver screens with their vibrant performances both in acting and dancing. The soothing songs in the movie have been sung by multiple award-winner Uresha Ravihari, Kasun Kalhara, Santhush Weeraman and Pradeep Rangana of Sirasa Super Star fame.
